In the default page template, which I would like to use, the date DEC 28, 2016 appears on the upper left, just as the date is placed on the blog posts.
I would like to remove it and am hesitant to go into the Page template coding. How can I remove the box and save a cleaner template for use throughout my website??

I think you’re talking about Elevation WordPress Theme. You’ve posted on wrong Category. This is HTML Category.
Anyway, we’ve Options on “Elevation Settings>Customization Settings>Remove Page Meta Data”. You can “Hide” on your case.
Hope you like it now.
